  • Central Warehousing Corporation (CWC), a Schedule ‘A’-Mini Ratna, Category, 1 Central Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE) is a statutory body which was established under ‘The Warehousing Corporations Act, 1962’. Its aim is to provide reliable, cost-effective, value-added, integrated warehousing and logistics solution in a socially responsible and environment friendly manner.
  • The authorized capital and total paid up capital of CWC are Rs. 100 crore and Rs. 68.02 crore respectively. During FY 2020- 21, The Corporation has achieved the turnover of Rs. 2168.13 crore as against Rs.1727.63 crore in the last year. Average capacity utilization of food grains was 49.92 lakh MT during FY 2020-21 as against 52.22 lakh MT during the last year. Dividend for 2020-21 @30% of Profit after Tax amounting to Rs. 131.47 crore has been paid to shareholders.
  • As a premier Warehousing Agency, CWC is operating 420 warehouses as on 31.10.2021 with a total storage capacity of 115.40 lakh MT. Services of CWC includes Food Grain Warehouses, Industrial Warehousing, Custom Bonded Warehouses, Container Freight Stations, Inland Clearance Depots, Air Cargo Complexes, Direct Port Entries, Accompanied Baggage Warehouse (ABW), Integrated Check Post, Container Rail Transportation (CRT) Operations, Private Freight Terminal (PFT), Pest Control Services, Farmers Extension Service Scheme, Consultancy Services / Training for the construction of warehousing infrastructure to other agencies.
  • Corporation has 50% equity in 19 State Warehousing Corporations (SWCs). As on 31st March, 2021, these State Warehousing Corporations were operating a network of 2203 warehouses with a total storage capacity of 439.12 lakh MT. The total investment of the Corporation in the equity of 19 State Warehousing Corporations as on March 31, 2021 is Rs.61.79 crore. Stayed. During the year 2020-21, the Corporation earned Rs.16.10 crore dividend income by investing in State Warehousing Corporations.
